Assistant to the CEO

Position Description

About the Client

The client is a specialized 200+ person design agency. We work with leading brands to help them communicate more effectively with their audience. The client has enjoyed growth over the last decade, providing lots of opportunities for advancement.

The position is an onramp to an operating role at the company. Previous assistants used the position as a stepping stone to learn the business and earn leadership roles within the company.

Your primary task is assisting the CEO to be more productive. You will do whatever it takes to help our clients, our people, and our company win.

You will take extreme amounts of initiative and enthusiasm to get stuff done. You may not know how, but you figure it out by asking the right people, googling, and experimenting. Hard-working, organized, and extreme attention to detail. Most importantly, you need to win!

Your daily tasks will widely vary from helping us conduct research (e.g., becoming an expert on medical scrubs), scheduling meetings (e.g., figuring out ways to get the attention of the VP of Marketing at Lululemon), creative client gifts (e.g., organizing a wine blind tasting), preparing a presentation (e.g. breaking a complex problem into digestible chunk and making it visual), and running random personal errands (e.g. getting car emissions, dry-cleaning, etc).

A successful candidate would use this opportunity to learn our business and way of doing things and get promoted into a product role. This is a great opportunity for a recent college grad (or someone smart enough to skip college)!

Duties and Responsibilities

- Prepare briefings. Help CEO prepare for client, internal, and sales deliverables.

- Make sure the CEO’s time is allocated to things that have the most impact on clients.
- Run random errands for the company and CEO.

Requirements and Qualifications

- Jedi master of using the phone and Google to get stuff done.
- Expert in learning. You can quickly become an expert in new topics and then teach everyone else.
- High IQ, EQ, and drive.
- Feedback. Wants to get better and understands that soliciting and acting on feedback is the path to get there.
- Curious. Notices interesting things and figures out why.
- Car. Reliable transport, a driver’s license, and safe driving record.
- Experience. Nice, but not necessary. We believe smart + enthusiastic > experience.
- Can’t stop winning.
