TITLE: GCN Field Service Lead Tech


LOCATION: US Virtual


Duties and Responsibilities


Travel up to 100%


Manage Inventory of assigned tools


Ensure that all assigned tools are current on calibration


Submit JCO and RED LINE for any change that would alter the work items,

assignments, and/or specifications.


Writing and presenting a method of procedure for our customers' approval.


Staging all the equipment and inventorying material for accuracy.


Assign specific tasks to subordinates and monitoring their work ethics fo

efficiency, quality, and safety.


Responsible for the accuracy in the installation of each and all types of

equipment installed.


Tests for completeness of wiring to ensure it is installed correctly.


Must coordinate the timely procedures of doing a power cut with the

customer within the


maintenance window.


Responsible for the accuracy of all the final paperwork required and turn

over to the customer in a timely manner.


Completes quality assurance procedure and check the final product for

errors.


Interfaces with customer contacts on projects and work orders.


Interfaces with the end user (contact person) and coordinates with other

vendors for each project when required by customer.


Provides technical support for customer contacts and Technicians on

request.


Attends project planning and progress meetings with or without the custom

contacts assigned.


Responsibilities Test


Optical Time Domain Reflectometry (OTDR)


Bit Error Rate (BER)


Perform Commissioning and Provision (C&P) of optical equipment.


Dispersion Tests


Manages all Test Equipment assigned to the project.


Ensure that all assigned test equipment is current on calibration.


Preparation and submission of daily reports to the Project Manager for

customers reference.


Assigning specific tasks to subordinates and monitoring their work ethics

for efficiency,


quality, and safety.


Supervise all aspects of scheduling.


Responsible for the accuracy in the test results by verifying data from

opposite end before leaving the site.


Coordinate timing and procedures of doing testing within the customer

maintenance window, if applicable.


Responsible for the accuracy of all the data required.


Completes quality assurance procedure and check the data for errors and

inconsistencies.


Ensure the safety, quality, and efficiencies of his crew.


Interfaces with customer contacts on projects and work orders.


Provides technical support for customer contacts and technicians on

request.


Qualifications


Must have 3 to 5 years demonstrated proficiency as a optical equipment

tester including troubleshooting fiber issues.


Proficient in the use of all test equipment from various manufacturers

EXFO and VIAVI, among others.


Preferred experience with the Ciena product line; OME6500, Waveserver

(WSAi) and others


Efficient use of fiber cleaning kits


Must have in-depth knowledge of testing and cleaning optical fibers.


Lead test teams/mentor junior testers and technicians to accomplish proje

goals.


Perform long term, load, stress and performance characterization testing.


Perform inventory of all job-related materials.


Perform power verification and power up of equipment.


Perform acceptance checks of equipment to ensure it meets customer

specifications.


Locate faults and troubleshoot to clear faults to ensure customer

satisfaction.


Ensure project deadlines, timely service and quality standards are met.


Produce test reports and analysis documents.


Maintain on-site job records and administration tracking.


Finger & wrist dexterity & hand/eye coordination.


Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, Visio, and Power Point
