NextGen is now in need of a COBOL App/Programmer Analyst to work with State of

Georgia Department of Labor at 223 Courtland St. N.E. Suite 200. Atlanta,

GA 30303 with an annual salary of $80,000.


Job_Duties


Scope of the work for this project are as follows:

* Communicate with product management, project management and development

teams to develop a strong understanding of the project and testing

objectives.

* Reviewing requirements, specifications and technical design documents to

provide timely and meaningful feedback to developers and product

managers.

* Modify procedures to resolve complicated problems in view of computer

equipment capacity along with constraints, operating time and desired

results form.

* Participate in troubleshooting current Mainframe environment and

resolution of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause

identification and resolution.

* Use Data Mining techniques using SQL tools and IBM tools to drill down

and analyze the results to find root cause of defects and perform

database optimization.

* Document, track and escalate issues as appropriate, using version one,

Quality Centre or similar tools/means.

* Manage and support production deployment of applications and perform Post

Deployment Smoke Testing.

* Provide Estimation, prioritization, planning and coordination for

development activities.

* Assist QA to track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and

open defect counts.

* Present innovative ideas to the management during Project Design meetings

with the help of data flow charts, MS Office tools.

The technical skills required for this role are COBOL, REXX, CA Technologies,

TSO/ISPF, PL1/DB2 Database, SQL Developer 4.1.3, JCL, VSAM, CICS, QMF, SPUFI,

PUTTY(Unix), Changeman, File Manager, Service Now, VersionOne, Emulator,

Endeavor, HP Quality Center, CFT(Cross File Transfer) Framework, MS Access, MS

office.

* Analyze requirements, develop batch and online custom application

features in IBM mainframe environment.

* Migration of existing legacy applications into open system web

applications.

* Testing the functionality change in Development environment and assist QA

to prepare Test scripts for QA environment.

* Coordinate and involve in structured peer reviews and walkthroughs.

Participate in production deployment activities and assist in post-production

maintenance.
