Sr. Manager/Director, Corporate Investigations

The Sr. Manager of Corporate Investigation will be responsible for directing, managing, and conducting comprehensive and objective internal investigations in a multinational medical device company.


As the Sr. Manager of Corporate Investigations, you will be a member of Global Office of Compliance. You will conduct internal investigations including instances of reported unethical or illegal practices, violation of company policies, or breach of legal and regulatory requirements. Key priorities for this position include maintaining responsibility for managing all aspects of internal investigations, demonstrating and applying advanced knowledge of investigative techniques and tools, coaching other investigators, conducting complex fact-based investigations in a professional and timely manner. You will apply and enhance the companys investigations-related policies and procedures, communicating and escalating relevant information to management and stakeholders to make important employee, operations, and compliance decisions. You will also be responsible for maintaining up to date and complete case activity list of all active and open investigations for priority setting and overall case management.


This position can be located Atlanta, Georgia or Austin, Texas (or remote)


Responsibilities for this position include some of the following:

- Serve as a member of Hotline triage committees or their equivalent and act as a subject matter expert on investigatory matters;


- Identify trends, emerging risks, and insights regarding internal investigations and lead efforts to continuously improve and enhance investigative processes and risk management processes;


- Build, maintain and strategically influence relationships across the organization and with counterparts in the industry;


- Prioritize multiple investigations, investigative tasks and responsibilities in a results-driven environment, while maintaining positive attitude and collaborative relations with various stakeholders;


- Direct, manage, and conduct objective, impartial, and fact-finding internal investigations by following effective investigative steps in accordance with all relevant policies, procedures, and guidance;


- For assigned investigations, apply project management discipline and drive execution with detailed case plan, including definition of roles, responsibilities and milestones;


- Preserve, gather and analyze evidence in accordance with established processes and standards;


- Conduct professional investigative interviews;


- Author detailed fact-based reports of the highest quality, together with findings, evidence, materials and analysis necessary for related disciplinary or compliance actions;


- Document results of investigations in a case management system;


- Complete post-investigative actions;


- Coach and contribute to professional development of other investigators;


- Maintain strict discretion and confidentiality, and ensure investigations are completed in a thorough and timely manner;


- Work closely with internal and external counsel when conducting legally privileged investigations;


- Maintain current knowledge and awareness of investigative techniques, fraud schemes, privacy laws, and applicable industry regulations, and contribute to coaching other investigators and building high performance team;


- Perform other job-related duties as requested.


Basic Qualifications:

-


Degree plus post graduate/ professional qualification or experience in a law enforcement or Corporate Investigations environment (depending on the individuals seniority in the team and their development potential)


- Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience leading and managing investigations and teams, and related processes;


- Experience in performing investigations and/or audits under the direction of internal and/or external Legal counsel;


- Demonstrated understanding of fraud and abuse, anti-kickback, anti-corruption, and other rules and regulations applicable to medical device industry;


- Experience leading and managing teams (both directly and through influence) to conduct investigations timely, with a proven record of team building across functions;


- Ability to influence and solve problems;


Preferred Qualifications:

-


Forensic accounting qualifications (e.g. CFE, CPA, CIA) and /or MBA a; degree plus post graduate professional qualification or experience in a law enforcement or Corporate Investigations environment (depending on the individuals seniority in the team and their development potential), with a desire to work towards professional qualifications in the short term

Experience in the medical device is an advantage


-


Experience working at Big 4 accounting firms


-


Knowledge and understanding of financial and commercial healthcare laws and regulations;

Experience of working in multiple jurisdiction will be an advantage;

Proficiency in working on e-discovery platforms;

Experience conducting internal audits is an advantage;


-


Conducting and leading email reviews and electronic data searches;


-


Proficiency in conducting open source intelligence searches;


-


Experience in fraud risk management will be an advantage.
